Ruff Luck is a 2D animated short about a young streamer who tries to get his hands on the coveted secret figurine - but fate has other plans.
Clifford Bigreddog is no stranger to blind boxes. All he ever wanted was Bopshop’s newest dog-themed collectibles, specifically, the secret one that supposedly is big, red, and a dog(!). However, fate has other plans as Clifford fails to acquire his coveted canine. He goes to delirious extremes to try to beat his ‘Ruff Luck’.
ENVIRONMENT DESIGN
Clifford's Room
Clifford’s room (and streaming studio) takes inspiration from Japanese ‘Otaku’ rooms. While not always cluttered, messiness is a common trait between these internet-dwellers. No doubt it manifests in Clifford’s personality and habitat as well.
These rooms are typically covered floor to ceiling in anime and pop culture merchandise, and often sport some kind of figure collection.
BOPSHOP
For the BopShop interior, we researched many different Pop Mart stores from both Singapore and China. We found that they were typically colourful or at least bright and featured a lot of fluorescent lights. They also typically had at least one large display statue of one of their Popmart figures in each store.
