The Beginning
It all started when she turned 10.
Young, fresh, new to everything.
Innocent.
Her new phone opened her to a world of possibilities - but also a world of darkness. Like a sponge, she absorbed all the information, the newfound wonder never-ending.
And then, she discovered social media.

Happiness
Could this be bliss? She'd never known such freedom and fun. Making new friends, learning new things, it's like a whole new world!
Finally a place where she was accepted.
Finally a place where she was loved!
She could get used to this.
She wanted this!
She could be great! She could be famous!
What could go wrong?

'Perfect'
Wake up. Eat your medicine for breakfast. No water, you will feel bloated. Update your Instagram. Pretend to be confident. Nobody will find out. #wokeuplikethis even though you're wearing 5 layers of makeup to hide
your dark circles. Pretend to eat lunch. Vomit it all out. Vomit a little
more for good measure. Time to exercise. Run until your legs burn.
Jump until you're numb. Go home. Pretend to eat dinner. Your
parents are angry again. Go to your room. Eat your medicine
for supper. Stare at the mirror until you can't anymore.
Weigh yourself and be disappointed in yourself again.
Go to sleep to forget everything. Lapse and binge
at 3am. Hate yourself. Vomit everything out
again. Love the feeling of feeling hungry.
Hate the feeling of food on your tongue.
What's the point of living if you're
not beautiful? Update your
Instagram. Pretend
like you're okay.
Nobody can
find out.
After
all,
you're
just
